One-On-One Therapy is a time for me to work on an individual basis with your child. I will work on skill development and behavioral challenges that have been identified as needs in your child’s life. This is most often done in your home, but can also be done in community settings when the child can learn and progress in the public arena.
Some of the techniques I use are discreet trial, chaining, shaping, discrimination training, communication acquisition, imitation, various schedules of reinforcement, positive practice, social stories. and as the child and I work together, it is beneficial for the parent(s) and possibly siblings to observe and learn these techniques to ensure we are consistent in our approach and are able to provide the child a stable environment in which to learn their new skills.
One-On-One Therapy is my specialty. I have spent the past fifteen years working with hundreds of children with a variety of diagnoses, including Autism, PDD, Emotional Disturbances, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder, ADHD, Down’s Syndrome, and Bi-polar Disorder. I love working intensely with children and helping them progress, learn new skills, and become more functional in their world.
